How does the Insured Cash Shelter Account Work?
  • Each individual investor maintains a single account. Through this account all investor funds are electronically linked to money market deposit account & certificate of deposits at various ‘well-capitalized’, FDIC-Insured banks and savings institutions.
  • Each investor allocation at each participating bank stays below the FDIC insurance limit, currently  $250,000 for each category of legal ownership.
  • Any funds in excess of the $250,000 limit are automatically transferred to another participating bank or savings institution. Through the use of proprietary technology, the Account is able to assign deposits to specific banks on a nightly basis to fit within the FDIC insurance coverage requirements.  At any time, an investor can request to remove a participating bank in order to avoid exceeding the FDIC insurance limits if an investor has other funds outside ICSA at that bank.
  • Interest will accrue from the date that funds are deposited with a participating bank, through the day before the day of withdrawal.  Interest will be compounded monthly and credited to your account at the end of each month.
